This image of the head of a Cicad tree was taken in 1998 in the National Botanical Gardens, Bermuda. It was taken in response to a Mystery Objects category in a photography competition, in which I was eventually placed, and along with the Bird of Paradise and the Yellow Palm, all taken on the same occasion, is one of the images which got me started in botanical photography.
