This is the fourth in a seres of seven riverscapes taken of the Thames on Christmas Day 2002. In this image, a River Police launch motors East, the only craft on the move on Christmas Day, and its wake the only disturbance on the mill-pond surface of the river. On the mooring buoy in mid-stream, a cormorant dries his wings.
